Poppy seeds are the oilseeds which are obtained from the opium poppy. Scientific - papaver somniferum. Opium poppy has different colors of flowers such as white, pink red or purple. Also the poppy seeds have few different colors, most common blue poppy seeds and white poppy seeds. Opium poppy was know medically to Romans and ancient Egyptians. It also has been cultivated for more than 5000 years in Turkey.
